e-Forms installation for Hilton brand hotels users
Configure the Front desk program to use the new printer
It may
be easier to use a printout to complete this part of the installation. When
you have finished continue with the next step.
Start the front desk program and from the menu bar select Reports
/ List of reports...
From the menu in the list window, select File / Printer
Assignments.
In the dialog box, click on Folio Paper Printer: and pull down the
Printer selection list and click on the Hilton or EFPLus ...4n
then close the dialog. If you will make use of the Statement Electronic Forms
at this work station, you should also set the White Paper Printer
to the same driver driver.
If you use the Registration
Key-Packet stock (the legal sized card stock with the top part that tears
off and the bottom part that folds up into a key packet) then the Reg Key/Packet
printer should also be assigned to the same printer. If you do not
use the key-packet stock, but instead print registrations on standard letter
sized paper, the Reg Key/Packet printer must be set to unassigned. Just to
make that clear: If you print registrations on plain paper, the Reg Key/Packet
printer must be unassigned. If you don't see a "Reg Key/Packet" printer
you are probably an OnQ5 user. Click
here to continue with instructions on configuring
registration printing.
Close the dialog
Click on Start / Programs / System 21 or OnQ
... / Database Maintenance
Select Hotel Defaults
Select Reciept Printing
Un-check the box that says "Print pre-reg and check out forms using VB"
Note:"If this box was checked, you will need to close and re-start
the OnQ program on each workstation."
Some properties have experienced very slow printing of Conformation Letters
when this box is not checked and have been told by Hilton support to check
the box in order to speed that up. Unfortunatly, checking this box disables
electronic forms. You may need to switch this back and forth depending on
what you need to get done at the moment. This should not be an issue for
properties with modern computer systems.
It's a good idea to check the font installation at this point:
Click on Start / Settings / Printers then
Right click on the Hilton or EFPLus ...4n and select Properties
from the pop up menu that appears.
Select the right most tab which should be labled "Configure".
Note: If the right most tab is "Device Settings" you have installed
the Microsoft Version of the HP Laser Jet 4 printer driver and this version
does not support e-forms.Go and "Install
an updated e-Forms capable printer driver."
Verify that the "Font DIMM" check box is checked and push the
"Configure" button.
Verify that "EFPlus eForms" appears on the left side under "Installed
DIMMs:"
Click on "EFPlus eForms" and verify that all the types of forms you
use appear on the right side under "Fonts on DIMM:" and that the word
"(Enabled)" is listed after each form.
If anything does not appear as indicated by these steps, carefully repeat
step 2 "Install the e-Forms fonts."
Click on Start / Settings / Control Panel then double
click on Fonts.
Verify that there are several fonts installed that start with
"EFPlus...". Most importantly, look for EFPLus Folio 21
