/Techref/member/roger_froud-virgin-/index.htm Here's a handy little program for a 18F2480 that allows you to embed a string in your program which is accessed by the preceding call. In this case, it's used to write strings to an LCD display but the principle is useful elsewhere.

Questions:
Does anyone know where to find instruction sets for Emerging Displays 16 X 2 Display. Why does this seem to be a top secret? Why can't they include it in their PDF Data Sheets? Its nowhere on the WEB. Will code for Hitachi work? Do most displays have the same instructions? Interfacing with PIC Microchip devices.
Hi, any chance anyone has some code for a single-line LCD output from PIC in assembly? I've got a DEM16101H (single-line, sixteen character) and I've been looking around but I'm not very good at finding this type of thing.
Any help is much appreciated :-D
James Newton replies: If I remember correctly, most single line 16 character LCDs are actually 2x8 LCDs with the two 8's set end to end.+
Anyone have PIC C code or assembler code, to control an NJU6580 LCD driver chip? What is the proper sequence to initialize it and to "write data" in parallel mode to the display?
I want to interface a Densitron lm3097 display with a NJU6580 controller to a PIC16F876. Do anybody have a slice of code for that job? Best regards Poul Thomsen
I am hoping you can help me. I have a 4x16 lcd by samsung

it was in an answering machine. I would like to use this with a basic stamp 2sx but I can not find any spec sheets on it. I am VERY new to basic stamps but have a solid background in basic programming as well as many other languages. If you can not give me any help here can you point me to a low cost solution for a lcd, I am not looking to spend a lot on this until I can get a firm handle on the basic stamp. Any help you can give is greatly needed.
Thank you for your time.
If i have already e-mailed you on this please forgive me as i am trying to e-mail anyone that i think may be able to help. As i am kinda excited to get started with basic stamps and lcd screens.
Regarding 4-bit 8x2 Hitachi LCD driver code:
how do you use it?
what do I need to do, besides lcd_init, to start working?
How long is the "delay" routine suppossed to be? Can anyone post both delays?
How do you connect it?
I have an LCD screen with a Sanyo LC75821 controller. Does anyone have any source code or ideas what I should send to the controller to get it working (it has three wires connected to the pic it is working at the moment, clock, ce and data). The datasheet for the chip can be found at: http://www.chipinfo.ru/docs/SANYO/002108.pdf
i am looking for code that will read a binary no. off portB of my pic16C662 convert it to decimal and then print it to an lcd display 16*2 line hitachi. The binary no. is read in on bits pB1 to pB7.portC holds the control lines for the display. Any help would be greatly appreciated.thanks.
