'[EE]: 2-axis momentary switch?'

I've been looking on and off (unintended) for such a switch the past few years. They're commonly called coolie or hat switches and you find them on computer joysticks and military aircraft. It's a momentary switch that allows you to move the lever up/down/left/right to close one of the four poles. I know I could make a crude one out of four microswitches but I've been looking for something small and in a single package. It would be a great way to input 4 control signals from a single part. Is there a manufacturer out there? Or are all of these joysticks and aircraft using 4 separate microswitches? Is there a more common name for this type of switch I should be looking for?
Thanks.

Some time ago I posted a response to a similar question. You might try
searching the archives for the exact post. I recall Electrosonic
(http://www.e-sonic.com) used to stock one of these switches. The part
number might be in the archives somewhere, search for my name and
electrosonic.

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something
completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete
fools.

Thanks, I found their link to the ITTCannon TPA511G switch. I should have
searched first ;-). Looks like they call them tactile switches or SP4T
switches.
