'[EE]: Radio fence'

This was mentioned under the mowbot thread but I think it's worth it's own .
I have one of these fences for my dog ( the dog can defeat it if he wishes!)
and was wondering what system it employs. I can't take it apart as it is all
in potting compound. I think it is based on 125KHz inductive loop(big loop -
500m approx in my case).
Has any one any info on this?

John

part 1 2050 bytes content-type:text/plain; charset=us-asciiI've got more info than you would ever want... I ran the Invisible Fence
engineering team for the last 10 years!

Most systems are 10.8Khz, some move down around 7khz.

Since yours is potted, that sounds like Innotek's product which I believe was
marketed as Pet Alert (incorporates a rechargeable battery).  I don't remember
any of the Radio Fence or Dogwatch products being potted.  Some of the old IFCO
products were, but we abandoned it because it was not necessary.

Feel free to contact me if you have any other questions.

Hi there.

Yes, I would really like to know more about it. My dogs are really doing
some free landscaping out there.

Why are you complaining? Landscaping for free!!! :oD

eh...maybe it's just a matter of teaching them to landscape the way you want :o)

I'm also interested in more info on the subject, the regular fence doesn't stop my dog, it just goes under it..
