Hi to all engineers.

I tried a few prototyping boards made for pic
It looks like lots of features are missing
And even passed a few years I still do not see them.
Every time when I want to work on pic projects
I do  not want to solder basic connections any more like
Rs232 chip, ICSP etc.
This is what I am thinking to make for engineers
And your feedback is important to me. The board
Size is going to be as small as possible. (SM)
means surface mount and (TH) means thru hole parts.

1. pic18fxxx family pics (SM)
2. rs232 chip on it (SM)
3. ICSP connection (TH)
4. 256k I2C EEPROM (SM)
5. on board step up converter minimum voltage is 1,1 volts
6. 4 mhz crystal (TH)
7. one dual red green LED (TH)
8. preprogrammed bootloader code
9. I2C real time clock on it
10. reset button

I think if I have this board on my bench every time
When I work on any project it will save me lots of time.
Any recommendation will appreciate.

Andre

although it doesn't have enerything you ask for
i would recommend the LAB-X1 from microEngineering Labs

Hi!

I'd also throw some kind of LCD display on it. If your major consern is
size, you could mount display like a piggy board on top of your design.

Isn't this what the 'simstick' tried to do (or still does)?

But with more modularity, i.e. you can connect
different modules depending on project.
A neat concept.
