Hi List,

I have a device here, with DCD shorted to RD (don't ask). When I try to
communicate to it using AsyncPro, it hangs. Separating the lines fixes the
problem, but I need it to work as-is.

This same device works with a number of other programs, and HyperTerminal.

Any ideas?

Just an obvious answer... are you using any flow control? or none?
Do you program with delphi? borland builder?

Not using flow control, it's basically a three wire interface (Rx, Tx, Gnd)
with Rx shorted to DCD.

The program is written in Delphi 7.

I think he meant do you have flow control turned on in the com port
component.

No, flow control is turned off.  Looks like you guys are both using
quoted-printable, is that at all negotiable? :)

I admit I haven't wired DCD shorted to the RX pin, and I
will not but just to know , can you post your code? Can you
make your code work without shorting those lines?

I can't really post the code, unless I post the entire project.

Yes, the code had been working fine without the lines shorted.
