We used Flextronics before we acquired a manufacturing facility of our own. No major problems although they're not the cheapest around. With the depression in full swing, the Chinese connection will NOT be the cheapest for very much longer. As the costs of shipping increase due to high oil prices, and the wages slip here in the US, when you add in Chinese unreliability ( failure to honor contracts, mainly), doing business with them is no longer a good bet. But China contract manufacturing is at bet only 75% yield. Why do you think I switched to Thailand back in 1998. If I have one bad board in 10,000, it is a lot. Labor not so cheap but reliability and accuracy can't be beat. I knew him in boot camp. Back then, he was known as Private Parts. sorry, couldn't resist... that line actually came from a P/P rep in Atlanta that visited me in Alabama, but seriously Mike, if you're going to mfg in China, you've got to go to China, and look for a shop that's ISO9000 - you've got to actually see it (and best if you're as un-announced as possible), because ISO can be bought and paid for or just faked altogether, but they are there, and typically a little off the beaten path, i.e. outside the Shenzhen city proper, and about 2-3x more expensive than the local Shenzhen competition, but right now, they're begging for work.
