Bought tact switch actuators generally (always ?) aren't transparent
but light could be sent up through a clear patch in the label. Ditto for
the suggestion on my site, although clear perspex does make a good
light guide

Thanks. What I was trying to avoid was turning a whole lot of
little 'stove-pipe hats" as you've done (proficiently, I might add)

I have a lathe and could've done that but a wire to string them
on so they can't fall out works well too
