Hi

I just found some thick book called the Encyclopedia of Electronic Circuits Volume 7 online. It was said to have covered quite many practical circuits. I just want to take a brief look at how other people design stuff.
If anyone happens to own one, I wonder whether this volume makes much difference from the previous 6 volumes? I wonder if it's an update on older circuits or it covers completely different topics? The 1st volume was published in 1985 thus I guess many ideas were too old.

Read the reviews of this book at Amazon.com.
They are largely negative.

I have that volume.  I thought it would be a revision, but it's actually part
of a series.  Seems all the circuits I'm after are always in another volume :(
Nothing spectacular about the book - it's a compilation of magazine articles
and other bits and pieces.  The circuits tend to have a brief description but
nothing in-depth overall, and lots of the circuits use proprietry ICs (a fair
few Maxim ones IIRC).  Not bad if you're looking for a reference to knock
together a quick circuit/building block (they tend to be fairly simple
circuits on the whole), but I tend to look on the 'net for what I'm after.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Pete Restall

Many years ago I bought something like that. The ideas were lame and quite old.

Save your money for a faster PC.
