Well, to go along with our recent OT: fun on microwave ovens...

beams to paralyze attackers, shoot down missiles or repel adversaries
by heating the water molecules in their skin. But some experts are
concerned about unknown side effects.

Aren't they about 70 years behind the SciFi invention of
"Death Rays"?  (Actually, more than that, since
H.G.Wells had them in "War of the Worlds").

Further, I'm sure I remember trials being reported in
the 1970's...

AND...funnily enough...directed sound energy at very low frequenecy, but
high amplitude, is way more effective AND doesn't make you look like a KFC
product.
