Title: Matching patents to commercial products
Project ID: 519764
Category: Engineering / CAD / Architecture
We are looking to hire engineers to match patents with existing
products. The first project involves laser and laser system patents.
We need help matching the inventions claimed in these patents to
commercial products which likely use those inventions.
Please submit an hourly rate on top of which we will award a unique
finders-fee structure. For each company identified with at least one
product that can be matched to one of the patents, we will pay 1% of
our revenue from our licensing efforts. This can be more than it
seems. A recent deal involved a portfolio of patents that were
licensed to four companies at an average of $1.35M USD each. That
would be $54000 USD to you, for what could amount to a few hours of
We have many of these portfolios (everything from lasers to steel
production to medical devices) and would like to develop a network of
engineers to help us on an ongoing basis.

Sounds like a company looking for other companies that are possibly
'violating' patents. They don't want to do the work themselves, but are
prepared to stump up if you get a hit that has a successful result for them.
Looks rather like a commission only 'job' ...

Looks like a bunch of scum bags to be honest. It's one thing protecting
your IP, quite another running a business purely on patent litigation,
especially when the US seem to allow you to patent almost anything.
