I've just (finally!) received 4 x ISD5008 digitised sound record/playback IC's Other work means I won't get to play with them for few weeks (probably). These are similar to the ISD3xxx and 4xxx series ICs but with a number of improvements. Is anyone here using the ISD5008? For those who have not met it the brief spec is: 4 to 8 minutes speech (sound) record/playback Data rate variable (time/quality tradeoff) On chip preamp and speaker driver SPI like interface. DIP28, SO & smaller pkgs Full duplex record/playback (ie simultaneous independent) Should be a very nice chip to use. A 16F84 or 16F876 will be driving it. Features look quite good. For my app it will eliminate some external hardware. It shouldn't be too hard to get up & running. (Famous last words !) Hoping to get it all done in the next few weeks.
