Hi all, does anyone know of a distributor for the RFM70 RF module?
I know of only Futurlec and Mr. Van Ooijen's website. Futurlec tends to be
extremely slow. They took over two months to deliver both times I ordered
from them

Two months?
Did they actually have any in stock when you ordered or was that the backorder time?
Just curious in case I ever want to buy anything from them..
Vaguely relevant rant:
It drives me nuts when companies advertise stuff as in stock (or give no details) when they don't have any in, and you only find out 2 weeks after they take your money.
I've been caught with this a few times, worst was some french company (forget the name) who I bought some replacement transistors (for an old turntable) from. Placed order on card, waited - nothing arrived for weeks, no reply to e-mails etc.
Finally traced the company on whois and phoned the owner at home. He casually replied to my asking about the delay: "Oh, we don't sell those any more, I'll refund you. Sorry".
The killer was, they didn't even remove the transistor in question from the website! it was still there a couple of months later for some other poor sucker to order... :-)

They claimed to have everything in stock (if I can remember correctly)
and when I inquired, they said that my order was shipped. But I
suspect that a few parts may have been back-ordered. However, I did go
with the cheapest shipping option. It would have been faster if I
chose the more expensive option.

Wow! That's absolutely horrible. What a scam.
However, I don't think Futurlec is remotely as bad as that. They're
just slow. Also, I wish they let me know if an item in my order is
backordered or not. I emailed them and asked them how many RFM70
modules they had, and someone got back to me within the day with a
response (100+).
I love Mouser for these reasons. Unfortunately, they don't have the
newest chips/modules in stock. I think Newark is pretty good as well
Here is one source (for RFM70, RFM12B, RFM22B modules): http://goews.com/rfm70http://goews.com/rfm70
They also have code examples for all these modules to aid in getting
started.
Fast shipping, too!

I think I can improve on that by ~ 7 weeks, depending on your location.

Thanks. Free shipping for orders $50 or more. But shipping to Canada is
only $5, so that is totally acceptable
