I think there's a disturbance in the Force... or at least in the Internet.
Apart from the several hours' delay in receiving messages from this place, I tried to download the latest
Circuit Cellar and failed - many times, until I ran out of tries, and the people there have no idea why. And
I tried to send an email to my girlfriend in New York and it bounced - any of these alone isn't unusual, but
all three in one day is looking suspicious.

The last one I find in my inbox or trash is 7/4/10 to the [PIC}.(besides
this one). I note that this one is [OT] which would be handled
different. I subscribe to [PIC], [EE], [TECH], and [OT]. Perhaps should
mention to which lists they were addressed.

D'oh.
The list seems to be generally quiet at the moment, perhaps it is the summer

Some of my messages have not been going through even though my SMTP

but PICLIST seems to reject them without any response. A different SMTP
server works though. Problem only started a few days ago.

Hi Isaac,
Your messages are making it to some destinations and not to others. I didn't receive it at outlook.com, but it looks like the Piclist archive and Chris using gmail, and Gus got it too. We've seen it happen before, and it's usually traceable to strict mail delivery rules being applied and the mail gets disposed of because it is being relayed twice. First by your internet provider and the second by the Piclist Mailman server. That happens when you use a desktop email client. A workaround for that is to use Yahoo's webmail interface when you post to the Piclist. None of it may apply in this case, but since I didn't get the original message I can't look at the raw message and headers. And much as I'd like to be, I'm also not a mail nerd :(
Hope this helps.
Best regards, Bob

Hi Trevor,
Thanks for copying the headers - it looks like a repeat of what we've seen before. Something about the combination of using a desktop mail client, a Yahoo email address, and the Piclist.
Best regards, Bob

As I suggested previously and, as I recall, I was told it worked:
To avoid (perhaps) list's approbation of Yahoo incoming.
Create a dedicated gmail account.
Set to forward all received mail to PICList.
Open PICList account using that email address.
Send messages for list to that email address.
