'[PIC]: Cheap ICD 16 F876 Kit ?'

Im looking for an ICD kit just like the Microchip PDF file describes (that
will run under MPLAB) but Im hoping I can find one for a price in the upto
US$80 range.
I can see there are plenty in the $120 - $160 range, but I dont see the
point when the pcb is fairly simple, and the components may be only around
$40 worth.
This would save me making the pcb one off, and save sourcing the parts.

regards
Adam

Hi, and thanks for the reply James,

Ive checked all the links on the page you quoted
but Im looking to save making the pcb,
I just dont want to have to start from scratch and spend time
etching and drilling a board myself if there might be someone
already making quantities of them for a reasonable price.

regards

Hi Philip,

You might have spoken too soon, because Joseph from Snail Instruments was
already considering selling such a kit for $39,  but he has run into a snare
with his modification, so the kit is not available yet.
And I knew about this before I sent my first post about this subject,.
And no I wasnt looking for the completed unit for a price under $80, just a
bare PCB and parts. I think Joseph knows if he will stay in business or make
a loss at the price he may sell the kit at.
Im quite capable of making a PCB and finding the parts myself,
but I dont see any reason for me (and who knows how many others out there)
to re-invent the wheel, if u can see what I mean.
