'[PIC]: DMX Dimmer Code'

Hi All,
I'm making some small 4 channel 240Vac light dimmers to help out a
local school. I've already made the PCBs and have used a 16F628-04P
to control each one. I've included a 6 way DIP switch, 4 TRIAC drivers
and a zero cross detect via RB0. What I need to do now is write some
code for 'em! Does anyone have any good tips for phase control? I was
going to use the RB0 interrupt to detect the zero crossings and timer 0
to delay the phase firing from that point each time. I am going to use
the hardware UART with a RS485 driver/receiver. Sound OK so far?
Any good suggestions or pointers would be appreciated.  :-)
Regards...

Sounds great Dave.

If you were in WA I would give you a hand. I have a little experience with
PIC's in DMX 512, but a vast experience with the 8051. It is not hard to
transfer concepts over.

If you want a list to ask DMX 512 questions on feel free to join the DMX 512
list on yahoo groups.

If you have any specific queries, just ask and I will help where I can :o)

Regards,

Kat.

David,

I have the code/schematic for my PIC based DMX512 transmitter and receiver
posted on my homepage (http://www.qsl.net/n5tle/).  These are based around
the 16C76 and 16F876 parts.  The receiver project will show you one way to
receive the DMX data.  Hope this helps.

There's never enough time to do it right, but plenty of time to do it over.
