Oh...one of those....hey can you do this real quick...projects.

I need to just buy a board that has a small to mid sized PIC (need 4 analog inputs, 4 digital inputs is all plus LCD), 18F would be nice, but I can settle for 16F, that also has a 2x16 (or 4x20) LCD connected to the PIC and a little bit of breadboard space.  ICSP as well.  Microchip has the PICDEM2m for $99, so looking for something less expensive if possible

Anyone?

If you don't need it to be all on one board: take a bunch of my Dwarf
Boards and while you are at my shop, add a sea-of-holes type breadboard.

I have a couple. Looks nice. Only 28-pin PICs (16 och 18)
but there are quite many of them... :-)

This is more of a true "prototype" board, not "demo" or
"educational" style...

My QuickProto-01 (http://www.embedinc.com/products) has that without the
LCD, but with a few other things you might find useful.  Often the RS-232
interface and dumb terminal program on a PC can be just as good or better
than an LCD, especially if its for debugging.

David, have you not tried Dontronics?
http://www.dontronics.com/dt106.html
The DB9 is not mounted on this board but you can either wire
in a socket or goto the MB combo,
http://www.dontronics.com/dt003.html
or are you looking for more of a production type setup?
Andrew

yes, I thought of yours actually but all the client wants is to convert some 4-20mA signals to a LCD display, for a demo.  I have a few serial backpack LCD units from Scott Edwards, and a few other boards with PICs on them, just trying to get away from having to build the hardware for a quickie demo unit.   I might just get a few of yours just to have hanging around tho....just in case.

How about
http://www.mikroelektronika.co.yu/english/product/tools/easypic3.htm

Priced slightly over your required limit, but looks feature rich, including
an on-board USB programmer.

Anand
