'[PIC] Engineering samples?'

Hello picdudes,
many months ago I purchased a lot of 20 dsPICs on eBay.
Now I just realized they could be engineering samples. :-(
I've tried to contact the seller for 2 weeks, but emails
always bounche back.
The code on the chip reads:
dsPIC
30F5013
I/PT-ES
042627Q
May that "ES" mean "engineering samples?".
If so, can I expect them to work reliably? It's not for
commercial projects, yet I wouldn't want to waste a board
full of other, expensive chips (or, even worse, having to
rework it with my cronical lack of equipment), for just
the microcontroller.
But if those dsPIC are considered reliable like the others
I could purchase now, then by all means I'll solder them!
Any advice?
Thanks!

C'mon man, I know I've gained some weight this year, but must you use the

Guilty complex to the extreme? ;)
Now where's that cake to cure the induced depression? ;D

Yes.

No. At least not unless Microchip can promise you that the same batch
passed all test and was also used for production. The assumption should be
that this is not the case.
