If you mean the email attachment, html formatting shows on the piclist as an
attachment. I use Word as my email editor and AFAIK there is no way to set a
style for different recipients.

The attachment is a 4.7K jpeg file which is probably a nifty but totally
extraneous background texture. It would be seriously courteous to
completely turn off all "rich text" enhancements.

If you use Word as your email editor, you probably use Outlook as your
email program. If so, you should have a drop-down box in the toolbar where
the Send button is located that allows you to change the message format
from HTML to Plain Text. This then makes the message being actually a plain
text message.

Lookout express provides a checkbox its contact properties for 'send mail as
plain text only' for each individual contact.
Perhaps your client does likewise.

Actually, your message doesn't show up as html. It is a multipart message
with three parts .. the first part is the text of your message (text/plain),
the second is your background image (image/jpeg), and the third part is the
piclist's trailer (text/plain). If there was some html there quite possibly
the piclist stripped it off, but the extra white jpeg, even though it's not
very large, is kind of annoying. You open it expecting to find a schematic
or something and it looks as if your image viewer is broken, or perhaps it
is yet another image variant and some other program might be able to decode
it. Eventually you look closely enough to discover that it is a pale
texture, obviously intended for a background. Most likely Outlook
stationary.
