As Tom said last week this is not a PIC question but it is part of a PIC
project. Is there a cheap easy way to read AC current from a 120V. line with
a PIC?

You can interface a Pic directly to a 110 VAC line using a 5 ohms
resistor in series with the pic. If you connect to the RTCC input you
should put also a clamping diode between the pin and VCC. For more details
look at the application note AN521.

With a 5 ohm resistor the PIC will pop like a firecracker!

I'm pretty sure you meant 5 megaohms.

UOPS. I'm sorry you're rigth it'is 5 megaohms resistor.
