'Code for Serial Interface Adapter for TC500 a/d'

Hi,
I've been given a project that requires a PIC to talk to a tc520a
serial interface adapter. Before I spend countless hours trying
to figure out how the whole thing works, I thought I'd check to
see if anyone on the list has already done so.
If you've got code, or any other advice that you can share I'd
be eternally greatful :)

Taken from TelCom Semiconductor, Inc DataBook. Page 2-189:
TC520a General Description
The TC520 Serial Interface Controller provides complete
logic control for the TC500 or TC500A Analog Processors in a
compact 14 or 16 pin package...
From Page 2-179
TC500 General Description
The CMOS TC500/TC500A contain all the analog circuits
needed to construct an integrating analog-to-digital converter.
The user can control resolution and conversion speed
through software. A uP controls the TC500 through the A and B
logic input signals.

So, now after reading this, I'm wondering why we ned the TC520 at
all. I would imagine I could do it all with PIC software...
Has anyone used the TC500 a/d with a pic, and if so how
complex/simple is the process?

Thanks Shane, I was just curious. I would agree that the serial support
chip is not needed unless your customer requires it. I can't imagin that
the interface is very complex, after all it's just another A/D converter.
Sounds like you already have the book, time to do a little light reading
:-)
