Friends,
I need to make room on my bookshelves, and would like to offload some
software I haven't been using.
1) Borland Delphi v1.0 on CD
2) Computer Associates (CA) Visual Object v1.0b on CD, includes lots of
extra CA-VO manuals for integrating with other CA and 3-rd party programs
as well.
3) Norton PC-Anywhere v2.0 on 3.5" (new, unopened shrink wrap)
Make an offer for whichever you want (shipping extra, from New Jersey (USA)).
Thanks.
Andy
PS. How about other places to post these items?

I have CCS C "PCW" package (includes PCB for '5x chips and 12C50x, PCM for
all other 16C chips, and Windows IDE) that I'd like to sell. I have
versions from 2.256 thru 2.423 (current is 2.445).
Interested parties please e-mail private. If you have any questions about
the compiler, you can visit the CCS page at
http://www.execpc.com/~ccs/
If you have questions about the operation, the two PIC lists I posted to
(listed below) have plenty of other users who can comment on capabilities,
etc.
If you're a BASIC user, here's your chance to learn a real language.

Better check your license agreement and see whether it's "transferable"
before you try and sell it.

Very good point, so were Mike's and Clyde's and others' regarding law.
From the Software License Agreement found inside the back cover of the manual:
"5 TRANSFERS - Licensee agrees not to transfer or export the licensed
material to any country other than the one it was originally shipped to by
CCS."
This means he only wants it to go to US customers.
The real question is, though, "What happens if I move to another country?"

ROFL!
Didn't realize they treated you guys poorly, too. At least, we _feel_ like
we're being mistreated all too often.
I've learned a lot the past few months about the "cowboy" impression that
most non-US-nationals have of us. Glad to have it, hope to keep it, would
_love_ to be able to share it!
Just pity those poor folks who couldn't get out of Hong Kong.

Any time I expect the barbed wire to go up. Already the State Police (a
good name for them) wear Gestapo uniforms.
I would prefer to live on the rural side of the country, yes. We have
investigated several locales.

Andy, move out to Oregon. I've spent most of my adult life in the
country and we have a lot of it just outside of the Portland area. You
got Intel, Lattice, Mentor Graphics, Tektronix, lots of off-shore wafer
fabs, HP, and on and on... We call it "Silicon Forest". On the down-
side, I would be bugging you all the time for info and to go fishing ;-)

Hey guys, as someone who does tech support once a month, it ain't easy to
get past the language barriers -- not to mention cultural barriers.
I was on the other side of it getting tech support from Taiwan and it was
rough going. My Taiwanise is non-existant so the poor guy on technical
support had to try to communicate technical concepts in what was clearly
not his first language.
I had my grade school education in Germany, but positively die when it
comes to jargon in German. I suspect shitty foreign tech support does have
to a lot to do with language.

I know it's off PIC subjects and apologize in advance.
What's going on? In Washington DC (US capitol) the SS (Secret Service
Uniformed Division) surrounds the White House in *black* uniforms with
*high peak* caps.
Local suburban Washington DC cops wear brown shirts or fatigues. In Las
Vegas, Nevada USA, I saw cops in brown jodhpurs with soft caps and
jackboots.
Pretty intimidating. I'm waiting for the machine guns.

And maybe the level of general education. I was referring to software support
from the US to me as an Australian born English speaking engineer.
As a completely off topic but I suspect related comment, I recall being
asked by an American, who like myself was working at the time in Saudi
Arabia, where I had learned to speak English so well. As the saying goes "Go
figure". I am sure we all have similar examples of cultural bumps and
scrapes. And a final one; a US sitcom the other evening had someone saying
that they wouldn't be coming to Australia because they couldn't speak
Australian.
Please excuse the disruption. We now return you to our normal programming <g>.

Only after we are all fully disarmed, and only crooks and military (is that
redundant?) have them. They don't like casualties on their own side.
If you visit a search engine, you can find all kinds of guys who are into
the militia movement to defend the populace in case of the need for an
armed rebellion. Could happen, wouldn't be surprised. Especially when the
attorney general sees no problem using tanks against children as they did
in Waco. There are folks on the net who have videos from Mexico, before
CNN edited what was aired (it was not "live" say these militia guys) which
are utterly gruesome. Not what Mr. Bill would have you believe.
No, I'm not a survivalist or one of them. Don't even own a gun.

I have yet to look at this part, assuming its data can be found
at atmel's website. First...is it a RISC part? Second, what about
development tools? Third..comparing Mchip to others, its not so
much as the power, but will the part be available (ie..Moto is usually
long lead), and does it solve the problem? If you have a product with
3 parts, 2 of which are one mfg and the other a second, its sometimes
nice to have all the same mfg (in my opinion).
And on another subject, anyone seen the ad Mchip has out on the FPGA
replacement? appears to be like a Xilinx hardwire type app, but what
parts do they cover?

Maybe someday Texans will get smart, secede (they are permitted to due to a
clause in their state constitution which was accepted by Congress), and
then require passports. I understand that there is a growing sovereignty
movement there.
