Anybody have a part number for the 2.5" IDE disk drives for the power/data
connection? I'm putting one in a PIC project but I can't identify the
connector. SMT or thru-hole is fine.

hello andy,
i have also a 2.5" IDE drive and the connectoins are very simple
1-40 is standard ide,
41 & 42 is vcc (5v)
43 & 44 is ground
i found the connector in a catalog, but it was hard to find !
if you like i can search for the manufactor and number...

There's a Molex part number given in the ATA-3 spec (available on
Western Digital's FTP site somewhere), and Farnell sell them. I think
Farnell includes them as part of their PCB interconnection system, as
something like '2mm double-row PCB socket'.
