There is an electronics IRC channel in #Electronics on EFNet.
We're trying to get more regulars, so come in and get/give help if you get
a chance. We discuss all sorts of electronics including PICs.

As far as I remember...
IRC is not a site, it's the internet equivalent of the
C.B (Citizen band).
You can see it as a "multi people public talker"
To access this online chat relay, you need to find a software
dedicated to IRC, run it while you are connected and then
you can go and listen (thus participate) to the channel
you are interested in. I think there are some instructions
and syntax proper to IRC to know to be able to move between channels
and to send a question or a message.
Hope this help...

IRC will let you talk to thousands of people worldwide, in
real-time. You need an IRC client to connect to a server, you can get
clients and FAQs from http://www.irchelp.org. The electronics channel is
#Electronics on the EFNet IRC network.

Please try this IRC channel, you need an IRC client (I recommend PIRCH or
MIRC, you can download them from the web from several sites, search for
their names in a browser) and connect to a server that's part of the
EFNET, like:
irc.epix.net
irc.colorado.edu
irc.stealth.net
irc1.cerf.net
the area is called #electronics. I sometimes connect at about 7 AM GMT,
hope I find some of you next time.

I really hate to even add to this......cuz its not even pic related....
but....I hate IRC....unless you can ban others from the channel...you
tend
to get very imature people coming into it. There used to be a channel
for ham radio. I went once. Never again.
If the response is too slow for mail lists...there is also ICQ, which
offers real time connections.
