Quit teasing, Brian... You guys already showed MPLAB at the Embedded Systems
   Conference.

For those people who weren't there, here's a quick overview of MPLAB:

It combines an integrated editor (based on PFE) with an enhanced PIC-Master
interface.  Source-code level debugging is MUCH better than PICMASTR's, and
the
simulator is integrated, too (well... it will be soon; my pre-release copy
doesn't include it).  It handles C source-code as easily as Assembly, AND...
(drumroll, please...) IT REMEMBERS THE CLOCK SPEED!

MPSIM has always been the most accurate, complete, and up-to-date PIC simula
tor
available, but it was hampered by an unbelievably bad user interface.  Now t
hat
it has the same interface as PIC-Master, it blows all the third-party simula
tors
away.  You guys without emulators are in for a treat.

Mike:

MPLAB is supposed to ship in October with support for the PIC-Master
emulator only.  MPLAB with simulator support is scheduled for April.
