Post by thread:Need info on Henk Schaer's pic programmer.

This is my first try on this list. I have downloaded a pic programmer made by Henk Schaer. His name is PICPROG.ZIP and it use the parallel port for programming. This is the version 0, march 1994. I have built the programmer and when I tested it it keep saying "ERROR, Programmer not responding" when accessing the programmer. There is no difference if I run the program direcly on DOS or thru Windows. I checked the hardware separately and everything seems OK. Also the parallel port was checked with a printer with positive results. So before analysing the signals on the port I want to know if anyone have tried this programmer before and/or had any problems with it. This programmer has a lot of goodies and I want to make it work, or at least try to.. Thank you again for any replies ! I read the list for some time and I learned a lot from it. Hi, I guess you already spotted the mistake in the pin numbering. If not, compare the pinouts of the buffer given in a databook with those shown in the diagram. Good luck. Cheers, David
