Post by thread:OT: Licensing/Ownership of Software?

I respect the knowledge of this list and would like to query the minds of those that have perhaps had some experience with the subject above. I have a client who wishes for me to develop some software for a firmware project he has. He also wants ownership of the code (so he can change it later). I have a concern on it's implications; I am using some of code I have developed for other projects? Now I could start from scratch and re-write similar routines however I don't want to give away the farm. Can I give him the source code and still protect my right to use similar code? It's not rocket science I'm trying to do but I don't want any hassles later. Any thoughts, etc........ Cheers, K.
