Does anyone have experience using Pics in an automobile. I am wondering what
kind of power and signal conditioning might be required.
Thank you.

Look up AN9312. It describes transients in the automotive
environment.

Very good link. The level and type of protection
and conditioning depends on what you are willing
to spend.
If you tell me you can spend $X per input, $Y per
output, and $Z for power cleanup, I can be clearer.
