Yes and No.
No with the microchip software/firmware. The 12C50x programming is a hybrid
between the 16C5x and 16Cxx programming systems so it is not possible to
"alias" or masquerade it as some other compatible device.
As for the 12C67x parts, here is what I posted to the piclist a week or so
ago.
"Unfortunately there are no easy ways to program the 12C67x parts of the
programmer software doesn't offer support. This is because the 12C67x have
seven oscillator settings and therefore use three bits in the config word.
The difference in the config word is the killer.
You may be able to select a same size 16Cxx device and then "fudge" the
config bit settings with custom __Config values if your programmer
software is lazy and does check for illegal conditions.
This is mickey mouse stuff but it may get you going."
