In the issue 91 of Circuit Cellar there is an excelent article called
TinyVoice
where Brad Stewart describe a low cost voice recognition using a 68HC705
microcontroller.
I would like to port it to PIC, did anyone try this? Any ideas?
Regards,
Octavio

Dear Octavio
There are special processors for those purposes - DSPs.
PIC's calculation power is hardly enough to achieve sofrware UART
emulation (especially duplex ONE). Voise recognition requires much more
power. PICs are mosltly designated to control different peripherials
such as LEDS, relays, switches, buzzers etc. An application note from
MIcrochip describes one of vioce application of PIC. But in this
application note PIC acts as transport media just taking voice codes
from ROM and sending them to speaker. Frankly speaking that can be (and
was) done by couple of counters.
So you'd better not reinvent the weel - use DSP!
