SX Embedded Controller Instruction

IREAD

Description: Read instruction at M : W into M : W
Operation: M : W = PROGRAM[M<<8+W]
Flags affected: none
Registers affected: M, W
Sources referenced: M, W
Cycles: 4 verified
Opcode:
Details: SX Users Manual page # 86
Microchip PIC syntax:
Notes:

IREAD - Used to read 12-bit instruction memory. The contents of address (MODE:W) is copied into MODE:W. In other words:

After the IREAD instruction is executed, the high four bits of the addressed location are in MODE and the low eight bits are in W.

Also:

Contrary to some pages of the users guide and the datasheet, IREAD has been confirmed (by Guenther Daubach) to take 4 cycles in turbo mode. +

Robotics nuts!

Check out http://www.verinet.com/~dlc/ email: dlc@verinet.com... This guy ROCKS! He has made (and sells but also releases code, docs, etc...) for a number of cool little robotic modules including whiskers, IR proximity detect and remote control, Sonar proximity detect, PWM, Servo, compass. Most of these use the little PIC 12C508 controller which costs basically nothing and is soooo tiny.
The 4 servos, 2400 baud serial servo controller is a wonder of magic and he sells the programmed chip for $8. Wow!
